Biogas production is to be at the heart of a $10 million study into how to boost ‘struggling’ rural economies while protecting the environment. The new federal grant from the US Department of Agriculture’s National Institute for Food and Agriculture will allow a research team led by Iowa State University, Penn State and ABC member Roeslein Alternative Energy to develop new cheaper and more efficient methods of turning biomass and manure into fuel.
