In the webinar “Nitrogen Rejection via Membrane Technology”, Air Liquide Technical Director Gregory Myrick discusses the ins and outs of Air Liquide’s innovative membrane-based NRUs, designed specifically for biogas purification. This presentation introduced the patented PEEK-SEP technology and process (US10,780,392 & US11,318,411), offering a cost-effective solution for high-nitrogen biogas streams.
Capable of handling nitrogen concentrations up to 14% N₂ (with optimal performance at 5–7%), Air Liquide’s NRUs maintain up to 96% methane recovery—even with contaminants present. The advanced PEEK polymer membrane resists oil and impurities without performance degradation, offering robust performance without the need for additional pretreatment—a key advantage over traditional systems.
