AgStar’s Operator Handbook Discussion

AgSTAR’s newest resource is the Anaerobic Digester/Biogas System Operator Guidebook, designed to improve the successful development, implementation, and operation of on-farm AD/biogas systems. With nearly 80 pages and 10 chapters of technical content, the Guidebook covers topics relevant to AD/biogas system owners, managers, operators, and other project stakeholders to educate, maintain, or improve effective AD/biogas system operation.

The Guidebook:

• Helps on-farm AD/biogas system operators improve performance and efficiency to ensure successful systems.
• Provides guidance to help prevent difficulties and challenges that can lead to community opposition and system shutdown.
• Helps operators maximize profitability by optimizing biogas yield, improving biogas quality, and improving operating uptime, while minimizing operations and maintenance expenses.
