WEBINAR: Completing the circular economy, from the dump to the pump: a discussion of California legislation to recycle organic waste

On January 1, 2022, regulations adopted under California’s SB 1383 went into effect targeting the reduction of Short-Lived Climate Pollutants (SLCP) emitted by organic waste disposed of in landfills. The recovery of a portion of edible food as well as the diversion of non-edible food waste is required, thereby reducing the methane gas produced by the decay of such wastes. They also impose requirements on banquet halls, grocery stores, and restaurants.
