This week, the University of Wisconsin-Oshkosh is hosting the American Biogas Council for its 5-day Biogas System Operator Training. Students, who are mostly current or aspiring digester operators are learning how to optimize performance of their biogas system and avoid issues that can become time consuming or expensive if not noticed early. The list of topics is long and includes everything from chemistry and math to safety, biogas upgrading and engine and pump maintenance. In addition, at this training, students also get to tour the UW-Oshkosh’s lab at the Environmental Research and Innovation Center (ERIC). The ERIC lab conducts BMP analysis, soil and digestate testing and other lab work from around the country for the biogas industry. The ABC hosts four operator trainings each year in Wisconsin, California, North Carolina and Massachusetts. View photos from our training here.
