A partnership with Promus Energy and ABC members Brightmark Energy and Regenis has made it possible for Central Washington dairy to begin converting dairy manure into renewable natural gas. Dan DeRuyter of George DeRuyter and Sons Dairy in Outlook says a natural gas pipeline is being built to carry the manure byproduct from their anaerobic digester to a regional network that supplies fuel for transportation. “Everything’s about being able to manage our nutrients better. You don’t want to ship water” (DeRuyter). More >>
