Multidisciplinary expertise with vision is in demand!
Rochester, NY, June 18, 2025 — EnviTec Service LLC is actively providing AD, gas upgrading, and biological support building upon the 15-year legacy of EnviTec Biogas USA. With a growing staff of 10 employees, it offers a broad portfolio covering all aspects of the renewable biogas industry. “Due to our team’s multifaceted expertise and commitment to innovation, we excel in all business areas. Our focused investments in the Service group beginning in 2022 have us well positioned,” says Timothy Logan, General Manager of EnviTec Biogas USA.
Diversified knowledge is critical when it comes to service: “With remote response times of less than 60 minutes during peak working hours and under two hours on nights and weekends, we consistently exceed customer expectations. Our comprehensive support covers both technical and biological aspects, ensuring satisfaction in every interaction.” says Cody DeGroff, who is responsible for EnviTec Biogas Service LLC as Service Manager, overseeing both locations in Rochester, NY and Watertown, SD. The 39-year-old has extensive experience in operations management, hazardous materials emergency planning, maintenance oversight, and customer relations. He also has profound insider knowledge of operational health and safety.
Top performance through proactive maintenance
“Achieving top performance through proactive maintenance is our goal,” explains DeGroff. “This includes a 24/7 hotline, ensuring we optimize biogas plants professionally and conduct scheduled maintenance to maximize efficiency.” DeGroff emphasizes, “Our focus is on enhancing sustainability and profitability by offering reliable, innovative solutions tailored to our customers’ needs.” He values the company’s cultural diversity, noting it fosters a global perspective in problem-solving. DeGroff highlights that EnviTec’s lab in Watertown is a critical component in supporting clients throughout the entire project cycle, from commissioning to ongoing operations. The lab offers specialized testing for each project, focusing on key biological characteristics of the feedstocks. As DeGroff explains, “Every digester has its own fingerprint, even a multi-digester site with the same manure in each, will have variables in biology. Continued sampling of manure will give precursors to potential issues and allow EnviTec and the client to act preemptively instead of reactively.”
Michael Knorr, DeGroff’s lead Service Technician, shares his enthusiasm. “Turning waste into energy alone makes a positive impact for the environment,” says the 37-year-old, who has experience in engineering and mechanics from the nuclear power industry and has provided technical support from the Rochester office for over a year, both on site and on the customer hotline, while also training new technicians.
“At EnviTec, we support each other and learn from each other at a global level, which is incredibly valuable.”
