Benjamin Gerber, head of M-RETS, says we should all learn more about the Carbon Border Adjustment Mechanism (CBAM) which is the set of European Union-released reporting rules that come into force this month. The CBAM is likely to affect hundreds of products sold into the EU, and will require many industries to start–or significantly increase–their decarbonization strategies. For manufacturing in the US, since there are few renewable alternatives for conventional natural gas besides renewable natural gas (RNG), this could increase interest in voluntary purchases of RNG.
