ABC Member, Lincoln Transportation and Utilities (LTU) is looking for innovative solutions to make use of more landfill gas produced at the City’s Bluff Road Landfill. LTU is seeking Letters of Interest for the design, permitting, construction, financing, and/or operations of a landfill gas project that emphasizes community and environmental benefits at the facility. The landfill at 6001 Bluff Rd. collects an average of 850 tons of waste per day, projected to produce an average landfill gas flow rate of 2,300 standard cubic feet per minute. Currently, part of the gas produced is used to generate electricity at LES’s Terry Bundy Station. LTU Director Liz Elliott said the new project will increase the landfill’s positive environmental impact, which supports the goals of the City’s Climate Action Plan. More >>
