Southern California Gas Co. (SoCalGas) Vice President Cedric Williams today joined Bakersfield Mayor Karen Goh, and local air quality regulators to mark the grand opening of a new compressed natural gas fueling station in Bakersfield, CA. The new fueling station is open to the public and will exclusively offer renewable natural gas (RNG), a clean, sustainable fuel made from methane that would otherwise be emitted from landfills, dairy farms, and other waste sources. The new RNG station extends the network of clean natural gas stations across a key regional goods movement corridor in the San Joaquin Valley, which experiences the worst particulate matter pollution in the state, according to the California Air Resources Board.
