November 6, 2025 — The World Biogas Association (WBA) announced today that more than 100 expert speakers will share their knowledge at its INDIA Congress 2025 in New Delhi next month. The conference will spotlight India’s rise as a biogas superpower and bring together both national and international expertise. Two programs — a series of Policy and Leadership panels and a Technical Track — will provide insights, collaborations and solutions to drive the next phase of biogas growth.
The World Biogas Association INDIA Congress 2025 is designed to provide attendees with access to Global leaders and key government officials from the Indian Ministry of New and Renewable Energy, Ministry of Petroleum and Natural Gas, the Ministry of Housing and Urban Affairs, and the Ministry of Agriculture and Farmers Welfare. It will also provide opportunities to connect with international peers, researchers, entrepreneurs and technology.
The World Biogas Association (WBA) notes that a strong combination of national and state policies, market demand, and practical needs is coming together in India to turn organic waste into a reliable energy and climate solution. National programs are driving thousands of new projects in both cities and rural areas, while state governments are encouraging investment, simplifying permits, and connecting projects with municipal waste systems and agricultural supply chains.
The result is a growing biogas ecosystem that will cut methane emissions, reduce dependence on imported fossil fuels, create local jobs, and help India meet its Paris Climate goals.
Demand is strengthening through key government initiatives such as SATAT, CBG-CGD, and the CBG blending mandate, which reduce investment risk by building markets for biogas products. Many state and municipal governments have also introduced targeted waste-to-energy policies, offering financial incentives and land access. Together, these efforts are creating ideal conditions for scaling biogas production and making India one of the fastest-growing biogas markets in the world.
Those interested in attending will receive Early Bird discounted tickets for a limited time and may register via this link.
