The American National Standards Institute has announced the publication of the following standard which has just been approved by the International Organization for Standardization (ISO): ISO 24252:2021 Biogas systems (Non-household and non-gasification). The American Biogas Council believes this is the first publication of an international standard for commercial anaerobic digester systems. This standard applies to systems for biogas production by anaerobic digestion, biogas conditioning, biogas upgrading and biogas utilization from a safety, environmental, performance and functionality perspective, during the design, manufacturing, installation, construction, testing, commissioning, acceptance, operation, regular inspection and maintenance phases.
