A successful candidate should have a background on life cycle assessment (LCA) applied to manure management, food waste, anaerobic digestion, and/or agricultural biofuels, including climate change implications of waste to energy technology implementation compared to other technologies.

This position will require knowledge of LCA associated with manure and anaerobic digestion, with only minimum work in laboratory analytics. A PhD is required in a relevant field, such as engineering, chemistry, microbiology, environmental science, agricultural economics, agricultural policy, or soil science. The post-doc position is a one-year, 100% research position, with no teaching responsibilities.

Expected start date is late-October 2022, with a one-year contract. The base salary will be $50,000 USD/yr, with a University of Maryland benefits package.
