As cities and companies become increasingly interested in turning organic waste into revenue, they face evolving challenges and opportunities. Last week, stakeholders convened to discuss strategies for upscaling biogas production from organics recycling at BioCycle REFOR19, the annual conference of the American Biogas Council in Madison, Wisconsin. Panelists were optimistic about the momentum in the sector, but also acknowledged issues that can stem from contamination, market risks and public policy barriers.
