WASHINGTON – November 25, 2024 – The American Biogas Council (ABC) issued the following statement from ABC Executive Director Patrick Serfass congratulating Mr. Scott Bessent on his nomination to lead the U.S. Treasury department and Ms. Brooke Rollins on her nomination to serve as Secretary of Agriculture:

“We look forward to working with Mr. Bessent to utilize the tax mechanisms Congress has called for which will encourage domestic investment in the biogas industry and support both rural and urban economic development while producing domestic energy.
“Ms. Rollins’ upbringing in a small-town farming community has given her a deep understanding of the foundational role farmers play in our nation, and the importance of providing farmers with opportunities to make their operations more efficient by better utilizing the resources produced and built on farms. We look forward to working with Ms. Rollins to advance biogas projects and the economic benefits these projects bring to Americans, while enhancing U.S. energy independence, providing reliable 24/7 power to the electric grid, and creating domestically produced natural fertilizers.”
