IES Biogas is a leading Italian company in the design, construction and management of biogas and biomethane plants in Italy and abroad.
Founded in 2008 in Pordenone, IES Biogas has become in a few years a benchmark in the sector, consolidating its presence in the construction of biogas plants in the agricultural and agro-industrial world, in particular through the IES AGRI&FARM division. In 2015, there was the strengthening of the divisions IES WASTE (dedicated to the management and complete valorisation of the entire waste cycle), and IES FOODINDUSTRY (which valorise, transforming them into energy, by-products and waste from food processes in the food and beverage sector).
Over the years, the company has started an ambitious process of internationalization towards other European and overseas countries, building plants in Argentina, Korea, Croatia, Serbia and Poland and relying on an important commercial network all over the world. In addition to its headquarter in Pordenone, with its own engineering, biology, automation and service centre, in 2015 it opened its first field office in Buenos Aires as a sales and service hub for the entire South American market. The growth abroad continues in the following years, through important development projects in Greece, Indonesia, Philippines, China. In 2020, IES opened a branch in Serbia, Belgrade.
In July 2018 IES Biogas joins the Snam Group, Europe’s leader in natural gas infrastructure management company, which acquires 70% of the company to grow and expand its expertise in the construction of biomethane plants and its integration in the transport sector. A strategic operation also for IES, which can now count on the Group to develop important projects in Italy and worldwide. In this way, IES will further confirm its leadership in the agricultural, agro-industrial and waste sector, in particular in the production of biomethane through the IES BIO-UP project.
To date IES Biogas has designed and installed more than 220 plants and is increasingly directing its investments in large plants in all strategic sectors – agriculture, food industry and waste – also abroad. Through the BIOGAS24 division, the company manages the technical and biological service and assistance of about 300 plants, guaranteeing a constant and widespread presence through modern and advanced technologies, high performance, high safety standards and quality made in Italy. The automation and control software, which allows to manage and monitor the system in a complete way even remotely, has been developed internally; it allows to optimize processes, support and increase efficiency.
IES Biogas offers solutions developed entirely in-house, dealing with all aspects related to the construction of a biogas/biomethane plant: from the feasibility evaluation phase to the preliminary design, providing assistance in financing and drafting of authorization procedures; from construction and commissioning to assistance and management of the plant.
