Malaby Biogas AD Services (MBADS) is a UK-based consultancy providing advisory services and project development and operational support across a range of international markets. MBADS’ principal is Thomas Minter who is a pioneer of the biogas and AD sector in the UK. He establsihed Malaby Biogas Ltd (www.malabybiogas.com) in 2009 and designed and developed the award winning Bore Hill Farm Biodigester which recovers 34,000 tonnes per year into biogas and biofertiliser which generates >8GW of renewable power.

Thomas Minter sits on industry boards for the UK’s Renewable Energy Association (REA) and Anaerobic Digestion & Bioresources Association (ADBA) as well as the World Biogas Association (WBA) and provides policy, regulatory and market development support. He speaks at national conferences focussing on operational efficiency, international markets and climate action through methane capture and use. He is involved with the Global Methane Initiative (GMI) and supports innovation and optimisation through deployment of R&D and academic development. He co-authored a case study research paper on GHG emissions in an AD system where Bore Hill Farm Biodigester showcased the carbon negative potential of AD systems using food waste feedstocks.

In 2014 he undertook a review of domestic food waste collection to support research on public participation, contamination, pre-treatment of food waste and policy development to increase public engagement. More >>
