A state program is giving the City of Appleton almost $170,000 for a project at the wastewater treatment plant. Mayor Tim Hanna says they’re taking the methane gas that’s created at the facility and converting it into energy. He says that way, they don’t need to use as much natural gas. Hanna says the city is projected to save more than $100,000 in energy costs every year. He calls that a win for the utility and taxpayers. More >>
