With the EPA showing no signs of stemming the tide in granting small-refinery waivers, a bipartisan bill introduced in the U.S. House of Representatives on Thursday would set a middle-of-the-year deadline for waiver applications. Since 2018, EPA has granted 54 waivers to the Renewable Fuel Standard for the 2016 and 2017 RFS compliance years, totaling 2.61 billion ethanol-equivalent gallons being taken out of the marketplace.
