The Trinity River Authority of Texas (TRA) is a conservation and reclamation district that provides water and wastewater treatment, along with recreation and reservoir facilities, within the nearly 18,000-square-mile Trinity River basin. Our mission is to promote conservation, reclamation, protection and development of the natural resources of the river basin for the benefit of the public. As a critical infrastructure industry, TRA values its customers, partners, leadership and the men and women who make it more of a duty than a job to help treat drinking water to the highest standards and treat wastewater by removing nearly all of the pollutants. TRA applies responsibility and accountability to every facet of what it does. TRA also maintains a master plan for basin-wide development, and serves as a conduit for tax-exempt financing for municipal projects, and as a local sponsor for federal water projects.
